Results

The camper received a complete structural restoration with new subfloor throughout, a sealed and weatherproofed roof, and rebuilt interior walls. All water damage, rot, and mold were eliminated. The unit is structurally sound and moisture-free, ready for years of reliable camping.

Project Overview

This 2015 Cruiser RV Radiance travel trailer came to Nations RV & Marine with serious water damage that had compromised the floor, roof, and interior walls. A persistent roof leak had allowed moisture to penetrate the ceiling and walls, eventually saturating the subfloor and causing widespread rot throughout the camper's living area.

When our team opened up the floor, the extent of the damage became clear: the original subfloor plywood had deteriorated to the point where it was soft and spongy in multiple areas. The carpet had trapped moisture against the wood, accelerating the rot. Mold was present around the doorframe and along the lower walls where water had been wicking upward from the compromised floor.

The roof showed significant weathering and deterioration at the edges and seams. The original roof membrane had cracked and pulled away from the trim, allowing water to pool and seep into the structure. Vent penetrations and edge trim were all potential entry points that needed to be addressed.

Our repair plan called for a complete floor-to-roof restoration. We stripped the interior down to the framing, removed all damaged subfloor panels, and inspected every structural member. Where framing had been compromised by moisture, we sistered in new lumber and treated all wood with preservative. New subfloor panels were cut, treated, and installed throughout the unit.

On the roof, we removed the deteriorated edge trim and membrane sections, repaired the underlying decking where needed, and installed new roofing material with proper sealing at every seam, vent, and edge. New trim was installed with fresh sealant to create a watertight barrier.

The interior was rebuilt with new insulation, drywall, baseboard trim, and window installations where needed. Electrical connections were inspected and repaired. The result is a structurally sound camper with a dry, solid floor and a sealed roof ready for years of use.

The Challenge

The Radiance had extensive hidden water damage caused by a roof leak that had gone undetected. The subfloor was rotted through in multiple areas, mold had developed along interior walls and the doorframe, and the roof membrane had deteriorated at the edges and seams. The full extent of damage was not apparent until the interior was opened up.

Our Solution

Our team performed a complete tear-down and rebuild. All damaged subfloor was removed and replaced with treated plywood on new and repaired framing. The roof was stripped, repaired, resealed, and fitted with new edge trim. Interior walls were rebuilt with fresh insulation, drywall, and baseboard. Every penetration point was sealed to prevent future moisture intrusion.
